Another favourite quote of ours comes from George Bernard Shaw who noted: “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”
We are proud to say that we are unreasonable men. We look for improvements where others don’t. We measure and learn relentlessly. We’ve learned patterns that work. We’ve seen patterns that don’t. Our approach requires a major shift in thinking and behaving at work. Albert Einstein. once said “We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.”
Having orchestrated this shift in several different organisations, we know what behaviours need to change and what KPIs we need to track and most of all we know what it takes. Because organisations always gravitate towards homeostasis , it’s better to think of all change as small. And step by step, one day you wake up with a big change compared to where you started.
