What do we do?

We help organisations learn faster, work smarter and do better.
Say What?

Consider an example – Someone in your organisation comes up with a cool idea. They discuss it with their manager who likes the idea. They work together to create a business case so they can get funding for the idea. The process takes weeks if not months. When they finally get a team to build the idea the execution ends up taking twice as long as initially thought and in a year’s time you learn that the product is not quite right for your customer.

How it could work – Someone in your organisation comes up with a cool idea. They discuss it with their manager who likes the idea and puts together a small team to verify if the idea is likely to result in a profitable product. You have many such teams validating many ideas in bi-weekly steps. Every two weeks these teams learn just enough to know if it’s worth exploring for a further two weeks. Some ideas fail early so it costs you less to find out and some ideas go all the way. If the idea passes all validation cycles within 6-8 weeks you know with a good certainty if it is worth building. You then work with one of your product teams who have the capability to deliver small pieces of quality software quickly and you enter another set of validation cycles but this time with real users. Bit by bit you build the idea. You learn how your customers react to every feature from the get go and you adapt until you build a profitable product. Hence…

Faster ~ Smarter ~ Better

Why should I trust you?

You must be thinking “surely if it was that easy to explain, everyone would already be doing it?”

One of our favourite quotes is from Richard Feynman ~ “If you cannot explain it in simple terms, you don’t understand it.”

We believe in the value of simplicity and experience has proven over and over again that well working teams value simplicity.

I hear you saying “the last consultants we hired messed everything up. what makes you different?”

Another favourite quote of ours comes from George Bernard Shaw who noted: “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”

We are proud to say that we are unreasonable men. We look for improvements where others don’t. We measure and learn relentlessly. We’ve learned patterns that work. We’ve seen patterns that don’t. Organisations often try to optimise the 20% while overlook the 80%. By measuring the right things we know what works and together we can fine tune your process and help you learn faster, work smarter and build better.

Hmm. so what’s the trick?

Our approach requires a major shift in thinking and behaving at work. Albert Einstein. once said “We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.”

Having orchestrated this shift in several different organisations, we know what behaviours need to change and what KPIs we need to track and most of all we know what it takes. Because organisations always gravitate towards homeostasis , it’s better to think of all change as small. And step by step, one day you wake up with a big change compared to where you started.
